I grew up in the South with a grandmother that I made biscuits with every morning, and an aunt that loved to cook and bake. My grandfather even hand-carved a mini rolling pin for me so I could roll out biscuit dough. I still have it in a shadowbox.
After moving to California, I decided to attend culinary school specializing in Pastry Arts. After graduating, I worked for companies such as Wente Vineyards, Oakville Grocery Co., and Taste Catering. I moved to Seattle for a time; there I worked in bakeries and restaurants.
An opportunity to be the head pastry chef at The Monterey Aquarium was offered to me, so I headed back to California. I later worked for AQUA TERRA Culinary in Pacific Grove, and for Shadowbrook Restaurant in Capitola where I designed cakes for weddings and special events.
Now, with over 20 years of experience, I’m ready to just focus on special occasion cakes and my line of artisan chocolates.
